2) Key Success Factor of the Industry

For drawing key success factor of the industry, we did this step.
We have two paths to find the key success factor of the industry. The first one is that focusing on what customers want. After team discussing, we chose three important point of customer’s perspective. First, they want products from well branded company. There are a lot of Yakju makers in the industry. From small companies to large companies, there are approximately 100 companies in Korea. In this situation, customers have the criteria for measuring the quality of product by looking the brand image. In other words, people tend to have more trust to big and well branded company. Second, people want no hangover. Before launching Bekseju, people just considered Yakju is just cheap and has low quality. Indeed it brought much hangover. So it is important to change customers’ thought about Yakju. Third, it has to be affordable. We don’t think whiskey and liquor are not the competitor of Yakju. Yakju is more expensive than Soju or beer. So people who drink normally think will buy Yakju only when it is affordable.
The second thing is that how could we survive the competition in the company’s perspective. It also has three important factors. To be a competitive company, Kooksoondang has to have an efficient distribution channel. In this area, it is critical to distribute efficiently. Because there are many product and customer’s taste changes fast. Second, product itself is very important. Though a company has a strong distribution channel, without good product, the company will not survive in the market. Lastly, advertisement and marketing are important.
