친환경적 측면 : 가축이 배출하는 온실가스양은 지구전체 온실가스 발생량의

경제적 측면 : 공간효율 우수 – 곤충은 좁은 면적에서도 다단식으로 사육할

80% 이상 식용 가능

자원적 측면 (미개발 자원의 보고) : 지구상 동물의 70%를 차지하는 최다 종임에
도 불구하고 거의 연구나 개발이 이루어지지
않은 미개발 자원의 보고이므로 개발 가능성
