During activity
The objective of during activity is to understand grammar feature more clearly and practice. Students can acquire accuracy and fluency throughout the role-play activity.
1. Short lecture
The teacher will explain the four forms of "Present-perfect" tense clearly, giving a simple example.
2. Role play
The teacher explains the activity concisely.
The teacher makes three groups and hands out the script to each group.
Each student will understand the script and play a role with the situation.
After this group activity, they will present the play in turn.
Students can guess which usage of other teams was used .
Post activities
The objective of the post activity is to get student improved accuracy about present perfect through correcting process. It helps students to get higher precision and review the grammar.
It will also help students to review whole contents and draw a picture about present perfect.
1. Drawing lots
One member of each team appears on the stage.
Each member cast one lot among ten lots.
Ten sentences have incorrect grammar in present perfect.
Three members read out the sentence that they choose.
Other members of each team find incorrect grammar.
When they find incorrect grammar, they get one point!
The team that gets high points wins in this game.
2. Summary
In summary, the teacher will deal with whole contents briefly.
The teacher reviews the class through some questions. (REVIEW TEST)
The teacher gives students homework.
Assessment & Evaluation
The teacher can check students’ understanding by asking students some review questions in the post activity. Also, by assigning homework, the teacher can evaluate students’ comprehension on the following class day. Throughout monitoring students’ team activities, such as the Human bingo and Role-playing, and Drawing strips, the teacher can evaluate their participation. Depending on the results of evaluation, the teacher needs to adjust the lesson plan for the next time.
Conclusion
This lesson plan is beneficial for students. They can learn the lesson with enjoying many communicative activities. In addition, they can retain accuracy-oriented grammatical features.
