Our exploration commenced at Guryongpo and Guryongpo Park, where the illustrious Guryongpo Complex Fishing Park greeted us with its mesmerizing Boreum Bridge, offering a perfect frame for a picturesque snapshot. As the day unfolded, the vibrant world of Yeongildae emerged— an exclusive theme park steeped in the folklore of Yeon and Seo, the celestial embodiments of our sun and moon. It presented a myriad of attractions such as Turtle Rock and the intriguing Shilla Village, inviting us into a realm of imagination.

Continuing our journey, we found ourselves at Dogu Beach, immersed in the local clam-catching event. Engaging in this coastal activity, I relished the thrill of capturing a handful of exquisite clams, harmonizing with the essence of Pohang’s seaside culture.

The day transcended into dusk as we traversed the Homi Cape Coastal Trail in Jim's car, bearing witness to the breathtaking canvas of the sunset gracefully merging with the horizon. A culinary treat awaited us at the King Pork Rib Restaurant where a symphony of flavors culminated in perfectly grilled king ribs, complemented by traditional sauces and the delectable Baek Kimchi, etching a delightful memory in our gastronomic journey.

Our itinerary led us to the awe-inspiring Pohang Space Walk, an imposing experiential sculpture that rewarded our ascent with an ethereal view of clear skies and billowy clouds. Subsequently, the Yeongildae Lakeside Park unfurled before us, a picturesque panorama harmonizing the sky, the tranquil lake, and the chromatic spectacle of autumnal foliage.

The pinnacle of our expedition awaited on the ascent to the 711.3-meter-high Naeyeonsan Mountain, renowned for its twelve cascading waterfalls. At Bohyeon Waterfall, the discovery of live Amur minnows thriving in the crystalline waters added a touch of wonder to this mountainous adventure.

Capping our incredible journey, we relished local delicacies outside Guryongpo Elementary School, indulging in steamed buns while savoring the rarity of whale meat at Momo Restaurant. As the night descended, we concluded our memorable sojourn at Jim’s residence, a fleeting yet cherished exploration in Pohang that will forever resonate in my heart.

This enthralling escapade through Pohang unveiled a treasure trove of experiences, weaving indelible memories that will perpetually linger in my thoughts.
