This study aims at the development of the proposals to improve user satisfaction of the Twitter and me2DAY, the representative microblogs which is a kind of the SNS (Social Network Services) spread by the introduction of Web 2,0, by usability evaluation.
In order to accomplish this research goal, the number of errors and the implementation time on six different tasks with regard to production of profile and content, formation of relationships and communication have been evaluated based on the task assignment method among utilization evaluation methodologies. The evaluation has been conducted by classifying targets into twitter and me2DAY and obtaining the average and standard deviation for each task. To supplement the survey method, preference survey and interviews were conducted. The preference survey was carried out through a list of questionnaire with 5 point Likert scale whose result was analyzed through gender t-test to find out if there is any difference in average. The interview has been focused on asking respondents if they have any particularly preferred micro blog.
The differences between Twitter and me2DAY were identified through the multi-layered structural analysis, and the proposals for improving user satisfaction were developed for the domestic operators of microblog on the basis of the analysis result. The first proposal is to make efforts in the improvement of the function to provide the users with the user environment suitable for the original functionality of microblogs, and the second is to develop and provide the services to reflect the differences in the preferences by the sexuality of the users.
