국문초록

Since Korean National Curriculum was made under the U. S. Military Government in Korea in 1945, it had been revised 7 times from 1st to 7th. Korean music, however, could not be learned equally with Western music before the sixth curriculum. Moreover, Korean traditional notations like Jeongganbo and Yuljabo could be presented in music textbooks since the 7th curriculum. Western classical music occupies the major part of Korean music textbooks written by this curriculum, the next is Korean music and multicultural music despite of the gap of the component ratio by grade. In the today’s age of globalization, however, the social trend that Korean indigenous cultures are emphasized, caused to increase the importance of Korean music education. This interests expect to improve the pedagogical qualities of Korean music classes in schools. For this reason, this paper focuses on the notation of Korean music because the types of notations are important to effect the objectives and activities of lessons.
The scores of the danso use horizontal Jeongganbo which indicates a high tone adding a spot upon a low tone. However, this notation can cause to misunderstand the high tone as the expression of staccato. Moreover, this horizontal system caused some problems to learn the original vertical Jeongganbo or Yuljabo in the secondary courses. Therefore, the opinions that this Jeongganbo of the danso can be useful for students to understand can be just the results of arbitary interpretation by some music teachers.
The notation system and contents learned from the Korean music classes of elementary schools can be the first experience and foundation to students. For this reason, the notation of the music textbooks of elementary schools need to keep authenticity, and then this methods can be easily related to the music classes of the secondary schools and the music lives out of school. Consequently, the notation systems of the music textbooks in Korean elementary schools should be discussed in the focus of students, and a careful consideration needs to use the horizontal score of the danso.

영문초록

우리나라 음악교육은 교수요목기를 거쳐 제1차에서 제7차 교육과정까지 개정을 거쳐 왔지만, 국악이 본격적으로 가르쳐지기 시작한 것이 제6차 교육과정 이후이다. 또한 정간보, 율자보 등의 전통적인 기보체계가 음악교과서에 주요 기보법의 하나로 등장한 것은 제7차 교육과정 이후의 일이다.
현재 제7차 교육과정에 기초해 쓰인 음악교과서에서는 학년별로 구성 비율상 차이는 있지만, 서양음악을 가장 비중 있게 가르치고 다음으로 국악(國樂)을 가르치며, 거기에 곁들여 다른 문화권의 음악을 가르치도록 구성되어 있다. 세계화의 흐름 속에서 우리 고유문화에 대한 이해의 필요성이 강조되고 있는 사회적 분위기를 감안할 때 앞으로 국악 교육의 비중은 더 높아질 것으로 여겨지고 그와 더불어 국악 교육의 질적 제고에 대한 현장의 고민도 커질 것으로 예상된다. 제재곡을 어떻게 기보해야 하느냐의 문제는 곧 학습목표와 학습활동이 무엇이냐의 문제로 직결되기 때문에 매우 중요하다.
우리 음악은 정간보의 틀 속에서 제시할 때 그 음악적 특징을 명료하게 드러내기 쉽다. 특히 정악곡의 경우 우리 음악의 장단 구조와 선율적 흐름을 쉽고 명료하게 드러내주는 정간보가 이미 전승되어 내려오기 때문에 이러한 역사성과 정통성을 갖춘 기보법의 전통 위에서 음악교과서 수록 국악곡의 기보체계를 고민해야 할 것이다. 다만 민요와 같이 자연적인 발생과 구전심수의 전수 방식으로 인하여 정간보로 기보되지 않았던 장르의 음악일 경우 교과서 저자의 판단에 따라 오선보로 기보하게 되는 경우가 있는데, 이때에는 장단꼴 및 시김새의 특징이 왜곡되지 않고 반영될 수 있도록 박자 표기 및 부호 등에 대해 통일된 기보 방식을 정립해야 할 필요성이 있다. 2007 개정 교육과정에 의한 교과서가 집필되고 있는 지금이 바로 국악계의 합의가 필요한 시점이라고 판단된다.
제7차 교육과정에 의한 음악교과서 중 단소 악보의 경우 가로 정간보에 한글 율명 위에 점을 찍어 높은 음역을 나타내는 기보법을 사용하고 있어서 문제가 되고 있다. 학생들이 청성(淸聲)으로 인식하지 못하고 스타카토처럼 인식하는 경우가 있다는 현실적인 문제와 함께 여타 악기 및 악곡과 관련한 정간보는 물론 중학교에서 배우는 세로 정간보와 율자보와 연계되지 못하기 때문이다. 정통성을 벗어난 현재의 단소 기보체계가 학생들의 이해도 향상을 위해 필요하다는 주장은 학생들의 입장에서가 아니라 일부 교사들의 편의적이고 자의적인 사고의 결과라고 할 수 있다.
새로운 학습내용을 접하게 되는 초등학생들은 교과서의 기보체계와 교사의 지도 내용이 국악곡 이해의 토대가 되고 첫걸음이 된다. 따라서 초등학교 음악교과서에서의 국악 기보체계는 정통성에 바탕을 두어야 함은 물론 이후 중고등학교에서의 음악 수업과 학교 밖에서의 생활 속에서의 음악 향유와도 연계성을 가져야만 할 것이다. 음악교과서의 국악 기보체계에 대한 논의는 분명히 학생을 중심으로 즉 수요자 중심에서 논의되어야 한다는 점을 분명히 할 필요가 있으며, 특히 현재 초등학교 음악교과서에 실린 단소 악보는 정통성과 역사성의 맥락에서 재고되어야 할 것이다.
