< Table 1 > shows the ranking of apparel brands in the global apparel industry. This date of this data is relatively recent, April 28th of 2010. Spain's ZARA, USA's GAP and Sweden's Hennes & Mauritz(H&M) are the top three global apparel brands in the apparel industry. Uniqlo, according to this data is the number five apparel brand in the world. Although Uniqlo is not the number one or two brand in the global apparel industry, considering the fact that Uniqlo is a brand that emphasizes on basic casual rather than fashionable up-to-date trends such as ZARA and H&M, Uniqlo's performance in the apparel industry should be highly acknowledged and the success factor of Uniqlo will be dealt with in the later parts of this paper.
