Silence However, even if American don’t like silence, they use silence in special situation. Sometimes, silence is more effective than word or speech when they express their emotions or claim opinions. We can see these things when Barack Obama made a speech. Americans use this when they want to emphasize typical part or do quote. 2. This means Money in America. In Korea, this(움직임을 보여줌) means money. And this sign means OK in America. 3. This is the gesture of farewell. In Korea, this can be misunderstood as a meaning of 'come here.' 4. This is the gesture of calling someone. In Korea, this can give someone an unpleasant feeling because it can be regarded as imperative and rude. |
